A California native, Johanna began her career in San Francisco. She received her BFA at The Academy of Art College, San Francisco.  After traveling through Europe as a working photographer, Johanna moved back to Northern California to pursue a teaching career, specializing in photography and her true passion, ceramics.

For the last 12 years, Johanna has been working out of the San Rafael High School studio where she teaches pottery to approximately 200 students annually.

Ever the world explorer, Johanna is deeply influenced by international cultures of the modern world, inspired by the colors, patterns and textures that surround her through her travels. 

In addition to her online presence, Johanna's work can found at local art and craft fairs.
